I had bought a new copy of Windows 7 Pro, and did a complete format with backed up files from when i had Windows 10 of my PC and installed the new OS. Afterwards, I plugged my Ethernet cable in and found that I had no internet connection.
I did since digging and find that all of my networking and usb drivers from when I had Windows 10, were mysteriously deleted. I then went and grabbed my sister’s laptop, downloaded the networking drivers onto a flash drive, installed them on my PC using one of the two usb ports that still worked, and continued to download the remaining drivers i needed. It is actually a very easy fix, but nearly impossible to do on windows 10 because without an internet connection, you can’t sign in to your PC.
This has to be fixed somehow on Microsoft’s end. It’s good that you have got the issue resolved successfully. However, you can also provide a feedback through the Windows feedback app for any solutions to your query in future. Refer to the following steps:.

For me, task manager works but opening programs through tm does not , file explorer works, right clicking on start works. I will be able to open the Start menu for maybe 10 seconds after signing in, after this it will be unresponsive.
The overall settings button on the right side of the task bar will also work for about 10 seconds, after this nothing happens. Actually opening Settings, all settings or any of the direct links won’t work at all, even the first few seconds. Some times I can open command prompt the first seconds, so I have been able to run sfc reported no errors, only hdd currently connected is a ssd. In reply to A. User’s post on October 11, I tried all three methods and none of them worked. I attempted to sign in last night and woke up to a screen that still said signing in. There are also no error messages, and it is with all programs Microsoft, task bar, and otherwise except for the task manager. In reply to KingsSpy’s post on October 12, I am still unable to use my computer.
I am going to try booting it in safe mode to tryband fix it that way, but last time I tried, my computer froze. Apparently one of my friends fixed this problem with his computer, but he doesn’t respond to me when I ask him how.
The only other solution that I was able to come up with is to reinstall the OS. Even when I called the microsoft technician, he had no idea how to fix it, and we literally tried for 3 hours.
If I figure it out, I will post it on here. In reply to KingsSpy’s post on November 19, Hello, Thank you for the update on the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account: 1. Go to Settings. Select Add an Account.
